Buy Land on the Moon!

Ok, not your typical New Zealand Blog item, but hey this is unusual and I like stuff that is a bit out in left field. One of the business partners where I work actually sells land on the moon. Yep at Lunar Realty you can buy land on the moon. Hey if you you feeling a bit ambitious, you can a Moon Land Lifestyle Block or if you tastes are a bit more frugal you can settle for an acre of moon property. The life style block contains 10 acres. Yep, apparently its legitimate to buy land from the moon. The lifestyle block is $298 Aussie dollars, the 1 acre plot is $59. Apparently you retain mineral rights to the land as well.

Antarctica, my next holiday

Ok, one of my dream vacations is a bit nuts, I want to go to Antarctica. Well apparently its not so nuts, because going there is big business I hear. But this place is even more remote than New Zealand, truly an outdoor photographers dream- truly an unspoit, unindustrialised wilderness!

Nothing like finding junk on NZ beaches! I went down to Awhitu Penisula and scoped out a few places I hadn't been before. Here are a few pics from today:

Rozi Demant, New Zealand Artist

Rozi Demant is an up and coming new zealand artist with a very unique style. She is quite young (19 or 20ish) I believe and she has already sold works for a nice chunk o' coin. I read somewhere that she is not going to Uni to study art, all i have to say is good on her - unfortunately institutions often hinder creatively rather than cultivate it. This is something I learned the hard way from 6 months in music school. It will be great to see this artist evolve of the next few years! Her work reminds slightly of cartoonist Gerald Scarfe, who did characters for Pink Floyd, The Wall

Moon over Auckland

Well not much to write home about this week, here are a couple of photographs I took this week. The moon was quite large and looming over auckland, so I snapped this shot. The other is of a daisy I took.

Oh... I won a trademe auction a few minutes ago. It was a super duper deal, but it was a nice package for an older nikon camera, and some darkroom dodads, books and stuff. I am currently in the market for a med. format enlarger as well. no luck there yet!
